Tongkat Ali (Longjack Extract)
Tongkat Ali, also known as Longjack or Eurycoma longifolia, is a herb that has been traditionally used for medicinal purposes in Southeast Asia. It has gained popularity as a natural remedy for increasing testosterone levels, but it also has other potential health benefits.
One study found that taking Tongkat Ali extract for 5 weeks increased testosterone levels in men with low testosterone levels (Tambi et al., 2012). Another study found that taking Tongkat Ali extract for 12 weeks led to a significant increase in testosterone levels and muscle strength in men with low testosterone levels (Talbott et al., 2013). Tongkat Ali may also have potential as a natural remedy for erectile dysfunction, with one study finding that it improved erectile function in men with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction (Ismail et al., 2012).
Tongkat Ali may also have potential health benefits beyond testosterone and sexual function. It has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties and may help improve exercise performance, mental health, and immune function (Henkel et al., 2014; Chua et al., 2018).
